Tom’s Super Blog!

This has just been an adventure in itself, coming into the project I thought I  was doomed and would never get any work done bt i actually found quite the oppisite.  I liked the project alot and this has been the best learning experience i have ever been apart of. I enjoy the fact that I will probaly use this in the future and I am gald that I took the class.

Thanks you Mr. Stengle and make sure to always make good choices.

In this past week of May 1st- the 7th i have learned many new things while working with my new edublogs site.  I become an exprert on blogging and how to add pages and post pictures but i really toned my skills on how to make my edublogs site look snazzy.  I added new widgets and updated my blog roll. 

We also started working with our advisors in creating our edublogs for their praticular needs. I am working with the basketball coach in making a wedsite that players can check and use to find out pratice times, look up roster information and other useful information to benefit the team. 

Working all week with our groups has been a learning experience for me.  I worked with Jack and Mary and we did a tutorial on how to work with Microsoft Power Point 2003.  Both Jack and Mary were very informative and helpful in how to use power point considering I knew very little on how to do so. 

I was the speaker and my voice was recorded during the encoding.  It was an adventure reading all the words clearly and the pressure of messing up caused me to stumble across certian words.. it was nothing to drastic and rather funny when it did happen. 

I hope we do more group work like that in the future.  I became close with my classmates and learned alot in doing so.

Recently ive been up to a whole lot in Mr. Stengels period six online communications class. We recently uploaded our videos and created a portfolio page on our edublogs site.  The videos we updated were our technology atobiographys that we worked ever so hard on.

We also worked on an about me page that tells a little about me what i like and what im interested in.  Visit that page to learn more!! We also started some group projects where we are going to be making tutorials. 

 My group is myself,jack and mary we are going to be working hard on a powerpoint tutorial teaching how to put on animations, backrounds and make your slide show the best you can have.

This has been a great adventure. I also changed my backround to my favorite artist Dave Matthews who i will be going to see in concert in June!!

Online communications period six has been an adventure since day one.  No one expected the work load or the gruling hours that we have spent making our blog amazing and exactly what Mr. Stengel wants to a T. 

The work load has been nothing short of impossible with millions and millions of directions but to tell you the truth i have really learned something.  I never knew how to manage a website or blig before this class and im really i stuck it out along with everyone else in here.

My favorite part of having our new blogs is that fact this it is something that i created and something that i worked hard on.  Know it is on the web and other people could view it, it makes me happy to know that one day i might come up on someones google search when they look how to manage a blog or they are looking into doing what we are.

Im actually glad i took this class, besides the huge work load that in the end is managable i have truly learned alot

In the last week of online communications  we have been moving faster than ever and its been a journey to keep up, but I like it. We have subscribed to this website edublogs and blogging to me has been quite a duzee. 

We enter various passages and we get to customize our page to make it our own.  We have been exploring on how to use this website and has been new to all of us. I think that at the end of this we will all be more knoledgable about how to use blogs and other internet tools =].

We have recieved our grades for our technology auto biographys and i feel that i did exactly how i wanted. I got a 175 out of 200 and that is a 87 which is great in my book.  I worked really hard to complete this assignment but i have to admit the hardest part was probally the citation of all my pictures.  I never knew that you had to go through that much work to cite works that you used.  I learned that you need the authors name, the site name, the last time it was updated and i never thought it was that complicated for something that took such a short time to do.  I guess you learn something new in this world everyday.

Our first week in this class was a good one, i learned more than I ever know about computers and various use of computers.  I learned the coolest trick on how to use Google searches by adding things such as slashes hyphens and asterix. We also started a project on a technology auto biography where we tell about our lives and how technology has affected it. We are using a program called windows movie maker where it allows you to edit and create your very own masterpiece. I have learned how to record audio and place it in my movie, it has truly been an adventure.

Well this year i met Mr. Stengel on the first day of school in 1st period lanuage and literaure and later on in life i found that he also taught my 6th period online communications class too. At first I had a feeling of resentment of taking the class, I knew it would be a challenge and thats a good thing. I start my morning with Mr. Stengel and basically end it with him too and i wouldnt have had it any other way.
